About

Welcome! I started this blog because of my absolute passion for decorating. Decorating makes me happy and reading blogs makes me happy so I came up with the crazy idea to share my inspiration, ideas and love for design in a blog of my own.

I strive to create spaces that are not only budget friendly but fresh, current and unique, mixing various patterns and textures. Decorating has always been a passion of mine which led me to pursue an Interior Design degree from the Illinois Institute of Art. Shortly after graduating I moved back to my hometown in Iowa, got engaged, bought a house with my fiance, and adopted a pup, quickly transforming my weekends out to weekends at home! Although we do enjoy going out for the occasional beer/margarita, our most memorable moments are spent in this house we have come to call a home, whether by ourselves or entertaining friends and family.

I spent a couple of years working for a small, high-end residential design business until realizing my love for Affordable design. I’ve had to design on a dime since we moved into our home and understand how necessary it is to make money conscious decisions when it comes to decorating. It’s thrilling, it’s challenging and it’s something I could relate too.

I now spend my morning’s doing clerical work for an accounting firm, and my afternoons/evenings getting those creative juices flowing while doing all things design (and planning a wedding, of course) and couldn’t be happier!  My exposure to new trends is constant, so the projects are ongoing and ever changing. Enjoy!
