I’m starting this wish list to keep track of all of the ideas floating through my head. Although I am fully aware I will not be purchasing but maybe 1 or 2 of the things on my wish list per MONTH, I have them for future reference…some for very very future reference.

{Office Paint Dilemma}

Whooohoo! End of tax season! And although I get the day off it sure doesn’t seem like it with my mile long list of things to do…

Aside from yard work, I would love to have my office FINALLY painted by the time Jake get’s home on Friday. He has been working in Indiana for the last 2 months and hates painting with a passion. As much as I would love to do it myself by then I know for a fact it will NOT get done. Will I make a decision on color? YES!

These are the $7 Homegoods drapes I will be hanging.

HOPING today will be my third and final trip to the paint store for samples.

I originally wanted and possibly still do, a shade similar to that of the background of the drapes. A soft, subtle bluish green.

This is how THAT idea has turned out…

Too bright…

Too blue…

Too WHITE!!

My final sample choices for today’s trip will include hues from my beloved BM historical collection that will include both Hollingsworth Green &  Prescott Green.

This oh so serene space painted in BM Palladian Blue was my inspiration. Although this would be a hair too blue, the samples I’m trying are on the same palette just a tinge more green.

{my fab 5}

This top 5 is ALL pattern!! Huge fan of pattern in just the right doses. Here are my FAVES of 2012 thus far…

Horchow’s “Panthea” rug. Although I am not a huge fan of patterned rugs, this my friends, is an acception!!

Etsy is THE place for trendy decorative pillows in fabulous patterns at steal deals!

Clearly obsessed with this room! Robert Allen’s Charcoal stripe on the headboard is just so perfect!

Shower curtain’s by West Elm. In bold stripes and crisp patterns.

Mix it up! This pattern combination of ikat polka dots and the lovely chaing mai makes for a fabulously unique accent chair.

{Paint} Choosing that perfect neutral.

When it comes to selecting  a paint color for your home, the options are absolutely endless, often leading to some major frustration. Painting can be a BIG project, and you most definitely don’t want to change your mind about the color 6 months down the road, especially in larger spaces.

I’ve shared a few of my most favorite neutral colors, in hopes of eliminating some of the headache involved in choosing that perfect neutral shade. I often tend to go straight to the back of the BM paint deck in search of the historical color section. These paint chips will all have an HC in front of their number and are the more easy to live with toned hues.

TIP: Consider asking your paint store to mix up a sample paint to try on your walls first and compare with another color option. Paint a small square of each on the wall and leave it there for a few days, in order to see it in different light.

Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore — HC-82 Bennington Gray

Benjamin Moore — HC-86 Kingsport Gray

I recently used KG in our guest bedroom and absolutely LOVE! Although this color can be rather complex. Not quite brown, now quite gray, rather a mix of each and obviously not easily described but absolutely rich & gorgeous. Fairview Taupe and Ashley Gray are a couple of other lovelies. :)

Thinking of painting the exterior of our house in this.

So there you have it! My FAVE neutral hues!
